I'd been a player of CoX on-and-off for several years, with a level 50 Tanker and a level 50 Mastermind (and an unholy slew of alts!). I finally left around the time of Issue 16. Recently came back due to the Steam sale of Going Rogue.
So, I was wondering if there were tips anyone could give a newcomer about all the new things. Incarnate system? Praetoria (is it only for Praetorian characters, or can my oldies go there)? Alignment? (I know I want my Mastermind to switch sides - curse you, Westin Phipps! May you choke on your own bile!)

It seems about every 2-3 ranks for your warband itself will unlock a new hero slot, in addition to possibly unlocking new hero types for you to use. Witcher gambling. You can earn ranks by either playing the campaign/ random missions or by playing in pvp.
Plants are readily available for sale online. Kniphofia ‘Winter Cheer' makes a stunning display during the cold months with its bright red flower heads, ‘Orange Queen' has softer orange flowers. The softer variety ‘Lime Glow' is a yellow form.  Otherwise known as 'Red Hot Pokers', kniphofias are available in a variety of colours from white to lime-green, yellow, orange and deep red. They are all easily cultivated in full sun on most soil types, and have recently risen in popularity for their drought hardiness.

Upgrade your account to 'VIP' status. (This will unlock a total of 12 slots per server, plus slots claimed through Veteran Rewards or purchased through the City of Heroes Store.).
The normal course of unlocking the Alpha Slot follows this general plan: Run Mender Ramiel 's arc to unlock the Alpha Slot and get the character's first Incarnate Shard Determine which Alpha Slot Ability works best for said character. That will determine which Incarnate Components are required to craft.
