Otherwise known as 'Red Hot Pokers', kniphofias are available in a variety of colours from white to lime-green, yellow, orange and deep red. They are all easily cultivated in full sun on most soil types, and have recently risen in popularity for their drought hardiness.

Kniphofia, also sometimes called Tritoma, Red Hot Poker, Torch Lily or Poker Plant, is a genus of plants in the family Xanthorrhoeaceae, that includes 70 or more species native to Africa. Some species have been commercially used horticulturally, and are commonly known for their bright, rocket-shaped flowers.
Lovely vibrant winter flowering red hot pokers. A small plant when planted will multiply and throw out many flowers during winter. Selling $1 each or $5 per clump - see pics will not mail.

Not a blowtorch, but close. Spikes glow, blaze open fiery red, then pale and wither. Mixture contains colors not usually available. Use as accents with grasses or sprawling blues and purples. Spice up your hypercums, heleniums and gaillardias. The classic showpiece. GARDEN HINTS: Seeds may be started indoors about 6 weeks before outdoor planting time. In cold areas, protect over winter with a layer of straw mulch. Cultivate or mulch to control weeds.
